Refine Your General Research Topic

You should have already copied and pasted your general research topic onto your IA document. However, I would like you to refine it to make it more specific. In order to do this well you will need to keep reading around your topic. Reading for TWO (2) hours would not be considered excessive. I suggest using Wikipedia to start. You can't cite anything from WP but it can help you better understand your topic.

Here are some examples of "refined" topics:

Too Broad: Peaceful Co-existence
Refined: Peaceful Co-existence, "Open Skies" and the 1955 Geneva Conference

Too Broad: Cuban Missile Crisis
Refined: The Secret Agreements between K and JFK during the Cuban Missile Crisis

This is a GRADED assignment. (20 IA points) If you are unsure about whether or not your topic is "refined" enough, please e-mail me. I will NOT be in school Friday, but I will still respond to your query.
